JavaScript error in ClearQuest after installing Microsoft Security Cumulative Patch KB918899

Flash (Alert) Abstract This technote documents that the installation of Microsoft® security patch KB918899, causes a JavaScript error in IBM® Rational® ClearQuest® (CQWeb) web clients using Microsoft Internet Explorer. As a result, no fields can be added to filter or result set when creating or modifying a query. This issue has been addressed in the 2003.06.16 and 7.0.0.1 releases of ClearQuest. Only the ClearQuest web server needs to be upgraded to address this issue. Content Microsoft released security patch KB918899 for Internet Explorer (IE) that affects the display of pop-up windows. This patch is prevents ClearQuest from being able to create and modify queries using IE. When editing a query, the pop up window which allows you to select a field is shown after clicking on the Add Fields button. Users can select the field and the selected field is shown in the right column of the window. After clicking OK to confirm the adding of the fields, the fields are not included in the result set or filter options, and a JavaScript error is displayed. This issue is has been reported as a defect in the ClearQuest 2003.06.13 and later Web servers and has been addressed in the 2003.06.16 and 7.0.0.1 releases of ClearQuest. It is tracked by APAR number PK29860.
