Use network name for automatic user log in
Sets whether VSS reads users' logon names from the operating system. This option bypasses any Visual SourceSafe passwords that might be set. If you select this box, VSS automatically attempts to get usernames from the operating system. Clear this box if you want users to use logon names different from their network logon names — VSS displays a Login dialog box unless users supply a username in some other way (with an environment variable, for example).
Security Note Using the network name for automatic user login has security consequences that the Administrator should consider. It is recommended that this login method is used only in protected networks in which all users are fully trusted.
